Can the door switch be bypassed to see if the switch is bad?

Expert Reply:
Yes, you can bypass the door switch on your Lippert steps. You can do this by connecting the two wires together. If your steps operate then you know the switch is bad and can replace it with the Replacement Door Switch # LC301694 if you have the Lippert Coach Step or Stromberg Carlson sliding step or the Replacement Magnetic Door Sensor # LC369299 if you have Kwikee Steps.
If you connect the two wires together and the steps still do not work, then you would want to use a circuit tester like the LCD Digital Circuit Tester # PTW2992 to find where the power stops.
