Question:
Trying to determine what capacity my axles are for ordering parts your electric brake section for my model says they are 4400lb, but the bearing section says it is a 3500 axle. How can I tell what it is?

The outer wheel bearing's reference number or inside diameter will clue you in to whether you have a 3500 or a 4400 lb axle. If the outer bearing has the LM67048 reference number stamped on the side of the bearing carrier or if it has an inside diameter of 1.25 inches, you have a 4400 lb axle. If the outer bearing reference number is L44649 and has an inside diameter of 1.063 inches, you have a 3500 lb axle.
The mounting bolt pattern of the brake assemblies would also be a giveaway. The bolt spacing on a 3500 lb brake assembly is consistent horizontally and vertically, while the pattern of the 4400 lb assembly isn't, as shown in the photo. (AL/KO also made a 4400 lb axle that had a different brake assembly mounting pattern, but those were obsolete years before your 2017 Forest River Salem travel trailer was manufactured).
For a 4400 lb axle, for replacement hubs I'd go with # 8-407-5UC3-EZ or # K23-462-463-00 for brake assemblies. For a 3500 lb axle, use # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K for a hub or # 23-468-469 for brake assemblies.
