Will Airbags With A 5,000lb Capacity Increase My Towing Capacity?

Question:
Is this 5,000 towing weight total, or does this add 5,000 to the previous towing capacity? Or is it related to tongue weight? Thanks!

Hey Brandon,
The Pacbrake Alpha Air Bags # PB42RV do not increase the total towing capacity of the vehicle. The capacity on these airbags refers to the load leveling capacity. The amount of support it will provide is up to 5,000lbs to help level out your vehicle with any weight added in towing or hauling in the rear. It will not increase how much you can tow or haul with your vehicle.

Installed a set on my tundra. They broke when I installed them. The welds were junk. Rather than waiting for some sort of warranty or repayment I ground and reseller them all. Then they worked fine. I was not impressed.
