Question:
, I am looking to install this unit on a 1996 E350 Cutaway with an ambulance box on the back. The ambulance box roof is flat and it appears that this unit does not come with brackets. Is this the case? If so what brackets would I need to mount to a flat roof top?

You are correct, the Thule HideAway Awning # TH64WJ does not come with mounting brackets as this is meant to be mounted via roof rack.
Since you have a conversion van, you're going to want to use a wall mounted awning like the Thule Hideaway Awning # TH620001. This will mount directly into the side of your vehicles side wall and includes the hardware to be able to do so. This awning measures 8' wide and 10'8" long.
