Question:

Looking at the Thule Hideaway 12’ model for a 170 sprinter. I see the item you have says Roof Mount, but can I still attach the Rack Mount adapter to this? Or do I need a different model to use the Rack Mount options. Thanks

Yes, you can use the Roof Rack Adapters item # TH490001 to attach the Thule HideAway Awning for Sprinter item # TH64WJ to an aftermarket roof rack. The only two major restrictions are the crossbars need to have a 36" spread and they can not be wider than 3-1/2".

I have linked a picture below of what this adapter will look like when installed. I have also attached a review video so you can see how this adapter works.

We do have two other options for mounting the Thule HideAway Awning item # TH64WJ to the roof of a Mercedes Sprinter. I have listed them both below.

If you already have the OE track, then you'll need the Thule HideAway Awning Adapter for Mercedes Sprinter with OE Track item # TH301668.

If you do not have the OE tracks, then you'll want the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van Adapter item # TH308073. I have linked a screenshot of the instructions below so you can see if this is an option that will work for you.
