Published 02/03/2022

Question:

Hello, I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee without towhooks. I would like to pull the jeep behind my RV. I see the front tow package available. Do I also need like face plates or is the tow bar all i need? And what kind of wiring and braking items would i need to get me on the road. Thank you for your assistance, this is my first RV :

You are going to need quite a bit of things to successfully and safely flat tow your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

First thing you're going to need a baseplate to be able to connect your tow bars to your towed vehicle. For a base plate kit, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521440-5. This base plate works with the Roadmaster Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, and Falcon 2 tow bars.

Next, you're going to need a set of tow bars, I recommend the Roadmaster Nighthawk # RM-676. These tow bars have a maximum capacity of 8,000-lbs, which is more than enough capacity to haul your 2015 Grand Cherokee.

Following the tow bars, you're going to need a braking system. A great kit is the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR. This is a permanently installed kit that a system that never has to be removed, replaced, or reset.

Finally, you'll need wiring # RM-154 and a high-low adapter # RM-048-4. For your high-low adapter, you'll want to measure the rise and drop needed before committing to an adapter.

I've included an instructional document on how to choose a high-low adapter.
