Question:
Hello, I will be needing to purchase all the components recommended for flat towing a 2005 Jeep Liberty. I will be towing behind a new if it ever gets built C Class Jayco on a Ford E450 Chassis. My first question is Do you ship to Canada? and if so, how much time should I allow for delivery? Thanks so much

We do have all the parts needed for you to flat tow your 2005 Jeep Liberty, and to make it easy to order I'll go ahead and list them out for you. As for shipping, we do indeed ship to Canada, and with in-stock products, they can be shipped right away. So here is exactly what you will need to flat tow your 2005 Jeep Liberty:
- Base Plate Kit: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1122
- Tow Bar: Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-1676-7
- Supplemental Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR
- Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400
The Blue Ox Base Plates will help your Liberty keep its clean look, as you can see in the accompanying photo of these base plates installed on an '05 Liberty. This photo shows the base plates with the arms in, but they are removable so you only need to put the arms in when you are ready to tow.
As for the tow bar, the Alpha 2 is the best option because it has long arms which make it easier to maneuver when towing because it allows your Jeep to track better behind your RV. It is rated for 6,500 lbs, which is more than enough for your Liberty, and also comes with safety cables, which is great because you won't have to purchase them separately. For the wiring, I really like the diode wiring kit because it is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback, keeping your Jeep's electrical system safe.
For your braking system, the Stay-IN-Play DUO is by far the best option, and the reason for that is it gives you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. So when you hit the brakes on your motorhome, your Jeep is going to get the same amount of braking power. This results in much smoother braking than most systems which send out a pre-set amount of braking power, giving you a more comfortable and easier-to-control ride when flat towing. And the Brake-Lite relay is needed to ensure your Jeep's brake signal does not override the turn signal when using.
