Question:

Deciding between curt and BandW 5th wheel hitches. I have a Chevy 2021 3500 long bed with puck system. I have seen reviews that the curt may not raise high enough to clear the bed when hooked to some 5thwheel trailers. Is this true, and if so is it wise to stay with a BandW.

I haven't personally heard of that problem wit the Curt # C24FR and the factory pucks on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500.

That being said, I recommend the B&W Companion # BWRVK3715 for its dual jaw, that provides excellent jaw-to-kingpin contact, it's easy release latch handle, and its improved cab clearance achieved with 2" front to back adjustment. The Companion also has a taller max setting, giving you more hitch height.

I also recommend adding a 7 way to the bed of your truck to make it easy to plug and unplug your 5th wheel. You can achieve that with # HM54FR, which will utilize your existing 7 way connector to give you in bed access. This will not impact the functionality of the existing 7 way at the rear of your vehicle.
