Question:
I pull a 6000 pound travel trailer with an F150. I currently use a traditional style Curt WDH with the chains and a separate sway controller. My question is how much difference will the Equalizer hitch make compared to my Curt?

When it comes to sway control, the Equal-i-zer will be a major upgrade when compared to the Curt you have now. Your current WDH is like the Curt # C17062. This means your current setup only has a single point of sway control. An Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System like the # EQ37100ET has 4 point sway control.
With the Equal-i-zer you are getting the best sway control along with a high quality weight distribution system. This does not use lift chains, the spring bars move freely. It uses clamp-on brackets for installation and steel-on-steel friction to minimize sway. You will have 2 points of sway control between the spring bars and L-brackets, and another 2 points at the system head.
If you decide to upgrade then the # EQ37100ET would be the correct choice. A WDH should be selected based on tongue weight, and this has a tongue weight range of 600-1,000 lbs so it covers the typical 10-15% of your trailer weight. You would also need the # ALL643216 for hitch ball installation.
Assuming your current system is rated correctly you won't see a huge improvement when it comes to leveling out your truck. However, if sway reduction is what you are looking for you will be happy you decided to upgrade.
I have attached a review video for your reference.
