Good Morning. The bronze spring eye bushings in the e-z flex kit do not look like bronze. They look like steel and are highly magnetic. I have read conflicting stories on whether bronze is magnetic. Most say no. Some say that some bronze can be very slightly magnetic. Are mine bronze?

Dexter E-Z Flex kits, like the # K71-653-00, should have bronze bushings included with them. Bronze can have small amounts of nickel in it which can make it very slightly magnetic, but generally, bronze is not magnetic. And definitely not highly magnetic. It sounds like what happened is you received the steel bushings that is used in the equalizer of the Dexter E-Z Flex. These will need to be replaced with the correct bronze ones.

As this should have included the bronze bushings, like the # K71-291-00, you will want to contact the place your E-Z Flex was ordered from to have them replaced.
