Using Roadmaster RAS and SumoSprings on a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500
Published 12/13/2021 >
Question:
I currently have an RAS on my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 and it has improved my travel trailer towing experience. However, I still have some bounce at times and on some roads that I would like to eliminate. Would adding Timbrens or Sumos help?

The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SS45FR do a great job of absorbing road shock like bouncing and bumps. They could fight the Roadmaster Active Suspension though so I recommend using the lowest setting (thin spacer) on the RAS to start and then you can move up if needed. The two are compatible and will work well to reduce sag/squat and bouncing while towing or loaded.
The Timbrens are rather hard and do a great job of providing support but they can cause a worse ride as far as bounce goes.
