If your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado LT Z71 is a 2 wheel drive model then it will not be able to be towed with all 4 wheels down. This would likely cause damage to the vehicle's driveline components. The only way to tow a 2 wheel drive model is by using a tow dolly.
If your Silverado is a 4 wheel drive then you will be able to flat tow it. There are 6 basic components of flat-towing: a base plate kit, tow bar, wiring harness, supplemental braking system, safety cables and possibly a high/low adapter. I will give recommendations for each component as well as attach installation videos, when possible.
Base Plate Kit: the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-3176-1. I recommend the # RM-3176-1 because the arms are removable, giving it a clean look when not attached to the RV.
Tow Bar: Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 8K # RM-576. I recommend the Sterling because it is a non-binding tow bar, meaning you will be able to easily disconnect even on uneven ground. You will also need the Replacement Quick Disconnect Crossbar Assembly for Roadmaster Motorhome Mounted Tow Bars # 910021-00 for this tow bar.
Supplemental Braking System: Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR. I recommend the Patriot because it is portable and easy to move vehicle to vehicle.
Wiring Harness: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267.
Safety Cables: Roadmaster 80" Hybrid Coiled-to-Straight Safety Cables - Double Hook - 10,000 lbs - Qty 2 # RM-674.
High-Low Adapter: You may need a high-low adapter to lower the height of your tow bar to the "Safe Zone". I have attached an article that will explain how to choose the right adapter.
I also recommend consulting your owner's manual to see their restrictions and suggestions for flat-towing your LT Z71.
