Question:
The grease fittings on my boat trailer are pressed in and when I grease them the fitting comes out HELP

Expert Reply:
Because the zerk fitting is a press fit, if they are falling out I would recommend simply leaving them out and replacing your existing grease caps with bearing protectors like Bearing Buddies. The Bearing Buddies you need will depend on your hub bore, or the outer bearing number. Once the fittings start falling out, there is not much that can be done to keep them in place. The holes where the zerk fitting was and the holes in the spindle that the grease passed through will not cause any problems or prevent using a bearing protector.
If you use Bearing Buddies, I would highly recommend you make sure that your grease seals are double-lip, not single lip. Bearing Buddies will exert a bit of pressure against the seal which could be enough to blow out a single lip seal.
If you would care to reply with the hub bore or outer bearing number and the reference number from your grease seals, I would be happy to recommend a double-lip seal and a set of Bearing Buddies for you.
