Can I Use the Roadmaster Adapter for Jeep D-Rings on a 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ

Hello there I have a 2002 Jeep TJ 4wd. I want to know my aftermarket bumper has D rings but the base plates won’t fit allegedly. I’m wondering if I can use adapters and just hook up tow bars to the front bumper D rings?

Expert Reply:
The only time you can use the Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts # RM-035 or # RM-035-1 is when the actual D-rings on the bumper are bolted directly to the frame of your TJ. Without the reinforced connection directly to the frame it's not safe to use those D-rings for flat towing.
If you can provide a better photo of the front of your Wrangler TJ, I'm happy to have a closer look and see if we can provide you with an alternative solution.
