Are All 4 Leaf Springs On My Camper Required To Be The Same Capacity Rating?

Question:
I broke at leaf spring on our tandem axle camper 2021 Model by the way. The trailer has LippertNOW 3500 axles and was running 1900# 4 spring leafs. All I could source locally in an emergency is 2900# 5 leafs. I bought a pair to replace both on that axle but my question is do I HAVE to replace the leafs on other axle or does the equalizer take care of any issues? If I should replace them, do I need to do it before driving more? Thank you in advance!

I would recommend having all 4 leaf springs match on your 2021 tandem axle camper. If you are using lighter springs on one axle with heavier springs on the other axle they will not work together to support the load of the camper properly. The lighter springs will absorb the weight better while the heavier springs will have a tendency to want to bounce more as their weight capacity is higher. The equalizers provide articulation to the axles so that weight will be evenly distributed across both axles. So that when one axle is raised from a bump or curb the other axle is pushed down to continue to carry weight and not require the one axle to carry the entire weight.
If you can provide me with measurements of your springs and more information on your specific camper. I can check to see if we have any that will replace all 4 of your current springs with one's that match your axle and camper weight capacities.
