What Size Battery Is Recommended For Electric Trailer Jacks?

Question:
What size battery Amp-Hour is suggested to self power this jack when trailer is isolated?

Expert Reply:
The Electric Jack W/ Foot Plate # EJ-3520-BBX and all electric trailer jacks will run on nearly any 12v battery with the exception of small lawn mower batteries, and as such do not have a recommended battery size.
However the higher amp hours of the battery, the longer it will last in between charges. If you will be in a location that it is hard to charge the battery then the largest battery you can fit would be the best option.
If you are just taking the trailer on day trips and have power nearby, just go with which ever size fits in the location on your trailer and is cost effective.
Should the battery go dead you are able to manual operate this jack by removing the cap on the top of the jack and using the included tool to manually raise and lower the jack as needed.
I included a video of the # EJ-3520-BBX for you to take a look at.
