Question:
I have a tear with flexride axles rated at 2000lbs. I want to replace the hub and brakes assembly. The tear manufacturer suggested part number bd 75450. Which I think is just a hub and drum assembly. What do you suggest?

The BD 75450 crosses over to the Dexter # 8-257-5UC3 7 inch hub/drum you'd looked at. The etrailer brand
# AKEBRK-2 would be a compatible replacement for your existing brake assemblies. Mounting hardware isn't included. If you don't wish to reuse the existing brake assembly mounting hardware, we offer replacement hardware as part # BRKH7, which provides hardware to install 2 brake assemblies.
You'll also want to closely examine the armature surface of the drum that the brake magnets ride against. If this surface is pitted or grooved or shows a blue discoloration indicating that the drum overheated at one time, you'll want to replace the drums as well using the # 8-257-5UC3 drums.
I've linked some videos that you might find helpful.
