Will Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch C31033 Take Away Ground Clearance On 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Published 07/22/2021 >
Question:
My question is about the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2, Item # C31033 mounted on a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. First, what is the clearance of the installed front hitch receiver from the ground - will there be a loss of clearance? and if so, how much? Second, do you have any pictures of the Curt hitch actually installed on the front of a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee? From what I can see, none of the front installation pictures are on a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There are some photos for the rear installation, but none for the front installation. I am wondering if there is any need to cut the front lower fascia which I am ok with, or does the receiver sit below the front lower fascia? hence the question about clearance. I have attached two photos of the front of my vehicle. Thank you for your response.

I would be happy to help!
The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31033 you were looking at for your 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited will sit right under the the fascia of your front bumper as you can see in the included installation picture and will require some trimming to the underbody trim panels.
Since it sits below the bumper fascia you will lose right around 2-1/2" of ground clearance in the center.
I included a link to the written instructions of the # C31033 for you to take a look at.
