Hello. I wish to use this cargo carrier on the back of my Thor Tellaro Camper van with a 2 inch hitch. I’d like to use a swing away arm for the carrier. Will that work? I believe you sell a swing away hitch arm.

You can use a swinging hitch extender like the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches # PVP20B for the GearSpace 34 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitch # HGK819 on your 2-inch hitch of your 2020 Thor Tellaro Camper. The reason why the Kuat Pivot 2 is a great choice is because it swings at 90 and 120 degree angles. However, the GearSpace 34 has a weight of 160 pounds, which leaves only 90 pounds of cargo carrying capacity in order not to exceed the 250 pound capacity of the Pivot 2.

In addition to the weight capacity of the Pivot 2, one thing that needs to be noted is that by using any extender like the Pivot 2, the capacity of the hitch receiver is reduced by 50%. This is important because this drastically reduces the carrying capacity and can cause damage to the hitch and/or your camper if the weight exceeds the 50% capacity.
