Question:

My husband and I are looking for one of these hitch mounted racks for our SUV. We would like to purchase one hopefully that is made in the USA. We wood like one approx 50 x 20 with about 5-6 side rails. Maybe one that would fold up to the vehicle when not in use. Do you have any that would fit close to that description? The major preference is the Made in USA and capacity of 500 lbs. Thank you

We do have two carriers made in the USA. They are both enclosed carriers. They are very high quality, but they are much more expensive and do not have a 500 lb capacity.

To get the 500 lb capacity and an affordable option, made in the USA will not be possible. In this case, I would recommend the etrailer # e98874. It tilts and folds. You would have to measure to see if you have enough room to use the folding option. You would need to verify that you had 9-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the carrier free on your vehicle to use it in the folded position when not in use.
