Troubleshooting Comm Error On Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Auto Leveling System

Question:

Message on my control pad reads ... comm error check wiring . It will not allow me to turn the system on . It operated long enough to put front jacks down and right rear went down and that’s where I’m at . It’s a Lippert ground control 3.0 6 point system . I tried manually moving legs with a ratchet but nothing happens . I’m kinda stuck not being able to get legs up to get it to the dealer

The Comm Error code is saying that the communication between controller and touch pad has been lost. I have included a diagram of the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System # LC675817. This will help you check the connections on the control panel. You should also check the connector on the back of the touchpad.

When trying to manually override and move the legs it is important to unplug the particular jack that you are trying to move. A 3/8” drive ratchet and extension will allow you to manually move the jack from the top of the motor. You will remove the rubber cap and insert the ratchet and extension into the motor. From the bottom of the motor an additional 5/16" socket is needed to fit the motor shaft behind the bottom rubber plug.
