What Does "Hall Power Short" Mean For Troubleshooting On Camper Touch Screen Panel?

Question:
What does the hall power short mean?

Expert Reply:
The hall power short error you are seeing is describing an issue where one of the wires on your hall effect jack/actuator which measures travel is shorting to a ground circuit. This is most likely along the wire on your camper but it could also be caused by the jack/actuator or controller itself. As this is more of a complicated task to diagnose you might consider having the work completed at a service center especially if your camper is under warranty. You can also try changing out the jack or actuator with one of the others on your unit to determine if the problem occurs on the same circuit or if it moved to the new circuit.

What if you get the error when at an RV park and they don’t retract and can’t get to a service center. I understand you can manually retract/extend with a drill. What kind of socket or bit is needed to do it manually on the Lippert Ground Control 3.0?
