If your Parallax 6300 Q-series is no longer charging your batteries you'll need to replace the unit. The Replacement Converter for Parallax/Magnetek or WFCO RV Power Centers - 45 Amp # PD4645V is the correct replacement for you. The Integrated Charge Wizard monitors your RV's batteries and automatically begins charging when needed. A lot of other Parallax owners have had issues with the batteries being overcharged so the Charge Wizard feature will prevent this from happening.

Is it acceptable to move up to a 55 amp unit? PD4655LIV?? And would a Parallax ru55 be a better choice than progressive dynamics? Thank you.

@BobF Going to a higher amperage is typically fine as long as you ensure that the wires connecting to the battery are the correct gauge to handle the increased amperage. Since we're talking about a replacement converter section you'd need to confirm that the dimensions match up to the original, otherwise the new converter section might not fit the space provided. The PD4655LIV is designed to fit the WFCO-8955 so it likely would not be a fit for a 6300 series converter. The Parallax 55RU converter replacement is designed for 7300 and 8300 series converters, so it's not likely to fit either unfortunately. The Progressive Dynamics Replacement Section # PD4655V is listed as a fit for the Parallax 55 amp 6300 series models so it may fit the space in your lower amperage model but you'll need to measure to confirm. This converter section is 13-1/4" long x 8" deep x 5-3/8" wide and works with flooded lead acid, AGM, Lithium, and gel batteries. Before purchasing anything I would also confirm that you have a 6300 series power center. Typically on the inside of the power center's door there will be a model number listed somewhere.

@KevinC Thanks for the super answers! And you were right to tell me to look at my actual power supply. Surprise! It is a PD9145. Replacement could be either the 45 amp pd9345 or the 60 amp pd9360. Can you verify those choices for me? And do I have to have the pendant to program, or is that optional? Thank you Kevin.

@Bobf I'd be happy to verify that for you. Since you have a standalone converter instead of one built into the power center you can choose whichever replacement you'd want, but there are a few factors to consider. To choose the right amperage you'll need to know how many amp hours your battery bank is rated for. The amperage of the charger should sit within 10-20% of the total amp hours of the battery bank. A higher amp charger will charge your battery faster, but may also shorten its lifespan if used improperly. A lot of lithium batteries will state they can only accept a charge up to a certain amperage, usually 30 amps, so it's important to check out the label/manual for your battery as well. You'll also need to ensure that the charger is compatible with your battery type (lead acid or lithium); a lot of models are being updated to be compatible with both so this part is getting easier. For example if you had two 100 amp hour batteries in parallel you'd have 200 amp hours which would equate to a 20 amp to 40 amp charger. The # PD69RR (PD9345) would be good option in this range and would come with the pendant # PD92201 included. Even if you didn't have it the PD69RR has a mode selection button on the side of it next to the port for the pendant. I recommend figuring out your total amp hours and checking your battery for any stipulations on charging to see if the # PD69RR (45 amp) or higher rated # PD79RR (60 amp) would be the correct choice.
