Question:

I need to upgrade/replace my Magnatek 6300Q charger/converter, its overcharging my batteries and the cooling fan doesnt work and its getting hot. Im looking for a replacement unit that will install in the same location? My front panel is 12X14 What would you recommend. Thanks, Mark

I do have an option for you but the Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger part # PD4135K is a direct replacement for WFCO model 8735.

I recommend the Replacement Converter for Parallax/Magnetek or WFCO RV Power Centers part # PD4645V for the Magnetek 6300Q which is the direct replacement for the Magnetek 6300 series at 45 amps. According to my research the older Magnetek converters provide a constant charge that damages the battery. The Progressive dynamics converter features a safety feature that does not allow overloading. According to Progressive this will hook right up to what you have now so you won't need to worry about the size.
