Expert Reply:
Yakima did make the Subaru-branded bike rack but they do not offer any replacement parts directly; these proprietary parts can only be purchased from Subaru.
Your Forester could be equipped with either a 1-1/4-inch or a 2-inch hitch receiver. The diameter of the hitch pin will be 1/2-inch for 1-1/4-inch hitches or 5/8-inch for 2-inch hitches. You can measure the size of the receiver opening on your hitch (or the hitch pin hole itself) to determine which size pin you need.
If your hitch uses a 1/2-inch pin you can use part # PC-2; if it uses a 5/8-inch pin you can use part # PC-3.
If you prefer a locking hitch pin to protect your bike rack from theft you can select one from those shown on the included link. You can use the filters on the left-hand side of the page to limit products shown to those of the appropriate size for your hitch receiver. Some lock kits will fit only one size receiver while others will fit either 1-1/4-inch or 2-inch hitches, for example, part # 2866DAT from Master Lock.
