Is this unit a direct replacement for a Parallax 7345 or would modifications be required? What modifications are required, if any?

Yes, this is considered a replacement for the Parallax 7345. It is not a direct replacement without modification, its size/fitment is different for mounting. The Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger, # PD4045KA requires a cutout of 10-3/4" long x 7-1/4" tall.
If you are looking for a direct replacement for the Parallax 7345, I suggest the Replacement Converter for Parallax/Magnetek or WFCO RV Power Centers - 45 Amp, # PD4645V.
