The purpose of the Hughes Autoformers Voltage Booster with Surge Protection - 30 Amp, # HU24FR is not to continually boost 15 amp service to 30. For 30 amp service at your house you simply need to run a 30 amp line with a properly matched receptacle. The Hughes Autoformers, # HU24FR is designed to address voltage drops during periods of heavy draw from the supply, i.e. you are connected to a pedestal supply at a state park or private campground and so are a lot of others and everyone has air-conditioners on max cool; heavy usage.

The recommended safe voltage for RV's is approximately 108 - 132 volts. If your voltage supply drops to ~113 volts, the Hughes Autoformers, # HU24FR will react by boosting 10% but if/when the voltage drops to 90 or below it will cause an open circuit condition to safe your RV's electronics. This is the the main purpose of the the Hughes Autoformers, # HU24FR. However, it provides addtional features as well such as surge protection from overvoltage and through diagnostic LED lights will provide indication of power stability of your parks pedestal power.

Please note the attached video links for product review and operation.

There are additional items available to go along with this, such as the Hughes Autoformers Voltage Booster Stand, # HU68FR that raises the voltage booster off the ground and away from dirt and puddles.

The Hughes Autoformers Rain Cover, # HU78FR.

If yo want to mount the unit inside your RV, there is the Hughes Autoformers Mounting Bracket for Voltage Boosters, # HU53FR and the Hardwired Mounting Kit, # HU54FR.
