I have a Shelby 5438 Lift System that is broken and need a direct replacement, this is a 4 cable system what would be recommended for direct replacement?

I do have a winch replacement option for you, but unfortunately there is no direct replacement for your older Shelby 5438 winch in your pop up camper.

I recommend the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake - TUFFPLATE Finish - 1,200 lbs # DL14934 you were looking at as its 1200lb capacity will lead to easy cranking, and the automatic brake will keep roof from collapsing if you stop cranking the handle for a minute.

If your winch cable is in good shape you can reuse it, or can replace it with the Hand Winch Cable with Safety Hook 7/32" Diameter x 50' Long - 2,500 lbs. # DL24045
