Will My Original 9/16" U-Bolts Fit The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring 3" Axle Kit?

Question:

My 2012 Redwood Model 36RL has 7000 lb., 3 inch axles. The U-bolts are currently 9/16 inch diameter. I have 3 questions: 1. Will the spring bundle tie plates that come with the Item # RM-2460-2570 kit accept that size U-bolt? 2. Or, do I need to order 1/2 inch diameter U-bolts? 3. Or, can I drill out the U-bolt holes to 9/16 inch diameter to accept the 9/16 inch diameter U-bolts? Thanks for your response.

Yes, the brackets that come with Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension 3" Axles Kit # RM-2460-2570 accept the 9/16" U-bolt that you currently have on your 3" axles. Drilling the bolt holes to make them larger could compromise the structural integrity of the brackets so I don't recommend doing that, but you won't have to drill the holes larger as they will be able to accept your current bolts.
