Assuming that your 2008 Toyota Sequoia has the factory 7-way connector, the factory trailer brake controller port will be above the emergency brake pedal. Removing the driver side kick panel will allow you to easily find the connector.
Now if your Sequoia does NOT have a factory 7-way connector then you will need to first install a 4-way connector using # 118412, and then add a 7-way connector using # ETBC7. You will need to hard wire the controller if this is the case, as the port is only there on vehicles with a factory 7-way connector.
If you do not already have a trailer brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 due to it being extremely reliable, and being a proportional controller which has a built in inertia sensor that detects the intensity that you apply your brakes in your Sequoia and sends the same braking intensity to your trailers brakes.
You will need the plug in adapter # 3040-P to connect the P3 to the factory trailer brake controller port.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
