Location of Electric Trailer Brake Controller Connector on 2013 Toyota Sequoia

Question:
Hello, Im trying to install the 3040-P wiring harness into the factory plug but I flat cant find the thing! Ive removed the kick plate and found lots of plugs but all have wires on each side of the plug ie 2 plugs together none are open plugs. I even checked for one with a cap over the plug but no such animal. Ive looked and felt around but cant find any plugs that are open. I have a 2013 Toyota sequoia with factory 7 way and tow package so it should be there. I watched the video on the 2013 Tundra and see the plug emerging from above the horizontal black wire trunk in the video. I found one plug in that area but it is plugged into another plug. Its not open.

From our experience the brake controller connector on a Toyota Sequoia is pretty tucked away. It's in a similar location as to the Tundra video you watched but harder to find. Take a look at the video I linked of the 2008 Sequoia, it's the same generation as your 2013. The connector is behind the driver's side kick panel next to the emergency brake pedal but it's tucked pretty high up behind a bundle of wires that are all taped up.
