Troubleshooting A Furrion Wall Thermostat That Needs To Be Reset Constantly
Updated 07/18/2024 | Published 06/14/2024 >
Question:
I have one of these thermostats in my brand new Sabre fifth wheel and everyday at least 2-3 times it needs reset. It doesnt accurately tell the room temperature unless I put the fan on low or high and then switch it to auto. It was very uncomfortable this spring before it warmed up outside. I am on a job out of town and need stuff to work. Any suggestions? Especially when Im gone all day and come back and its an oven in the trailer. There are 2, one for each ac. They are both the same and do the same thing.

Hey Deneena,
If the wall thermostat needs to be reset that frequently then it's either defective or you have some sort of power issue. There's the possibility that while you're gone if there's other campers pulling from the same grid the available power is dipping too low to properly operate your AC system and requiring you to reset it to get it back up and running. Have you had this issue in other areas or has it only happened at this campground? Have you seen any error codes?
There's also the possibility that the thermostat is defective, but I'd first check the communication wires to ensure they are in the correct order. The wall thermostat is in the top right of the diagram below. The A and B wires can some times be installed incorrectly by the RV manufacturer so I would check that they match up correctly on the thermostat and at the zone controller. Each wire should be labeled with a little white band so it shouldn't be hard to verify.
If everything looks to be wired correctly then I would reach out to Furrion to see if you can get the thermostat replaced under warranty.

Thank you for the reply. I will look into this. I really think they are defective. There are a few people out there that have the same issue. Are these thermostats interchangeable with a different brand.?
