Question:

What is the spacing between the mounting bolts? Will it mount on a 4” square rear bumper? Thanks

The bolts on the Demco Spare Tire Carrier for up to 4" Trailer Tongue - Silver # DM15851-52 are roughly 4-1/2" apart; this carrier is designed to fit on 4" x 4" trailer tongues, so it would also fit on a 4" square bumper but it isn't the best solution. Instead I recommend using the Ultra-Fab Folding Spare Tire Carrier for Trailers and RVs - Bumper Mount # UF15-954730, which can fit a variety of different bolt patterns and is designed to fit on 4" x 4" square bumpers.

I don't have room for the Ultra Fab tire mount as I have a rack in the receiver hitch so I think the Demco carrier will fit but I'm concerned if it will fit a 4X4" bumper. Are you certain it will fit on the bumper?

@KenL The Ultra-Fab Folding Spare Tire Carrier # UF15-954730 is made to fit 4" x 4" box bumpers so if this is what you have then yes, it will fit your bumper.

@JesseM Did you see where I said I don’t have room for the Ultra?? I have a rack in the hitch which doesn’t give room for the spare tire. I was asking about the tire mount that Erik reviewed abobe

Eric, incorrect, the reason we purchase this is to get the spare tire above and over the bumper to increase the clearance behind the bumper. The folding mount defeats this purpose. This is the only product on the market that will position the spare tire forward and over the bumper more. Read my review and you will understand. It is super expensive but will work on 4” square bumpers with some minor modifications and touch up paint. Had mine over a year now with thousands of miles on our travel trailer and no issues yet.
