Will the Thule Helium Aero 2 Bike Carrier TH9042 for a 1-1/4 hitch part # 306-X7284 work with this hitch for a 2010 VW Jetta Sportwagon? Please let me know!

According to our measurements, the distance from the hitch pin hole in the shank of the # TH9042PRO Thule Helium Aero PRO to the closest upright portion of the rack is 10-3/4 inches.

When we installed the # 306-X7284 hitch on a 2011 Jetta SportWagen, we found that the hitch pin hole to furthest rearward point of rear bumper measured only 2-1/2 inches. Since this measurement is less than the length of the shank of the bike rack, the Thule Helium Aero rack will install and fit just fine on the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch # 306-X7284 once it is installed on your vehicle.

To carry womens bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # TH982XT is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.
