HI RON! The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7284 is exactly what you need for your 2011 VW Jetta SportWagen. This hitch fits both the TDI and the gas engine Jetta's. This custom fit hitch has a 2" receiver and has a 2,000 lbs and 300 lbs towing and tongue weight capacities. All hardware necessary for installation is included.
You're really going to like the EcoHitch item # 306-X7284. The main crosstube mounts entirely behind your Jetta's rear bumper leaving only the 2" receiver and safety chain loops exposed. This not only looks better but really helps with ground clearance.
I attached a picture below, along with an installation video we made, so you can see what this hitch looks like installed and how to get it setup.
What do you plan on using your new hitch for?

This hitch was easy to install and extremely sturdy! I would pull any normal trailer with it, even hooked to a bass boat that a truck was towing but couldn’t back up worth anything, the only issue that I know is on the car side of hitch, the sportswagen usually has a sagging back end over time, so a quick 2 hour spring/strut replacement and all was good

This hitch is great. Not only is it very easy to install, it looks great also. I just used it to pull an 8’ trailer with my motorcycle from Arizona to south Florida with zero issues. Unlike most aftermarket hitches on unibody vehicles, there is very little transferred noise from the receiver into the passenger compartment of the vehicle. My only recommendation is to get a rotary cutter to cut the bumper cover where the exposed receiver protrudes.
