Question:
What roller shaft length is needed for a Yates 10inch roller with two Yates end caps?
asked by: Brad P
Expert Reply:
For the Yates Keel Roller # YR1000Y with the Yates Endcap # YR135-5Y on both sides you will need a 5/8" roller shaft.
I recommend the Roller Shaft with Pal Nuts # CE10727A. This shaft has an end length of 13" and includes 2 pal nuts. The endcaps are each 1" in length and have a recessed area to accept the pal nuts. To make up the 1" difference you can either cut 1" off the length of the shaft or add Flat Washers # 1140357 on each side of he endcaps allowing you to use the longer shaft. The washers will also aid in ensuring the endcaps spin freely on the shaft and do not catch on the steel brackets of the roller frame.
