I have a great alternative for you. Unfortunately, the etrailer License Plate and LED Tail Light Mounting Kit for Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier # e98943-44LED will not fit the 20x48 etrailer Off Road Cargo Carrier. However, given that the construction of the etrailer Off Road Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches is made of steel, there is a possibility that tail lights with magnetic mounts will work with the carrier. For this option, I recommend the Hopkins Magnetic Tow Lights # C6304. For the best approach, I recommend attaching the tow lights onto the top part of the top bar instead of mounting them on the sides of the bar.
For a license plate mount, I recommend the LED Trailer License Plate Light with Mounting Bracket # 328-003-70BE. The mount comes with a 2-wire pigtail that includes power lead and ground wire. The license plate light with mounting bracket will give you the visibility you need on the back of your carrier.
If you need a wiring harness for your 2020 Nissan Kicks, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C46CR. The T-Connector harness will give your vehicle the 4-pole connection you need in order to accommodate the Hopkins tow lights.
