Tire Pressure for Trailer Tire Load Range D in Size of 175/80-13
Updated 05/17/2021 | Published 05/13/2021 >
Question:
The dealer only had D in stock and said it would be ok to replace the previous C tires with a higher rating. If so, what tire pressure should I run at? I previously ran 50 psi.

Helpful Expert Reply:
With trailer tires you have to run them at their max PSI listed on the sidewall. So for a tire size ST175/80D13 in the Load Range of D like the part # AM1ST77 that you referenced you'd need to inflate them when cold to 65 psi. This ensures you get the full weight capacity of the tire as well as prevent heat build up.
