Connectivity between the camera and monitor are achieved wirelessly and are thereby subject to interference from other wireless devices and the metal structure of the truck and trailer. That being said, if you read the customer comments you will find a couple that had signal issues, but the majority report complete satisfaction.
I think you can use this system and also be happy with the performance.
