Recommended Hitch Extension For 2-1/2" Trailer Hitch Receiver

Question:

ON the Titan hitch extension, there it states it can be cut to 24 inches. The hitch pin hole is pre drilled. Is there any way I can cut it to 28 inches and drill the hitch pin hole. Is that safe? Thanks in advance.

I have another option, but the Hitch Box Extension and Reducer for Titan 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches, 24" - 34" Long # RP45292 can only be used at the 34" or 24" length, as drilling an additional hole for a hitch pin will void the warranty of the extension.

I recommend just using the extension at the 34" length which give you plenty of clearance since you are only needing 28", but you will need to make sure you are staying under the 4500lb trailer weight rating, or the 6000lb trailer weight rating if using a weight distribution hitch.
