Will Existing Trunnion Bars Fit Reese Replacement Weight Distribution Head, Part # RP58167

Question:

will my bars fit this head? the trunnion on my bars measure 4.25 in. tip to tip and the ends measure .960 or just under one inch in dia. Also, what size hole is provided for the sway bar ball?

My contact at Reese indicated that older weight distribution spring bars/trunnions will fit new replacement heads, such as Reese part # RP58167 (but new bars/trunnions will not fit older head assemblies). He noted that there may be a slightly different fit in the new head, but that your bars and trunnions are fully compatible with the replacement head.

A photo with key measurements is included for reference. One measurement not shown on the photo is the vertical distance between the two surfaces that will support the ends of the trunnions (you note that your trunnions are 4-1/4 inches tip to tip). That vertical distance on this replacement head is 4-1/2 inches, which will accommodate your 4-1/4 trunnions.
