Question:
I purchased and installed the 1.25inch Curt #C11486 Class 1 tow hitch on my 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid which looks great! The specs on the Curt #C11486 receiver indicates that the measurement is 5inch from the center of the pin hole to the end of the bumper. The specs on the 1.25inch RockyMounts Monorail #RKY10003 Class 2 bike rack indicate that the distance between the center of the pin hole to the closest part of rack when folded up stowed is 5-3/4inch and closest part of rack when folded down used is 12. Given the curvature of the rear of the 2019 Ioniq and the specs, will the RockyMounts Monorail 1.25inch #RKY10003 fit without coming into contact with the vehicle in the stowedinch position or with the petals on a road bike loaded in the usedinch position? If not, I was thinking of the 1.25inch Kuat Sherpa 2.0 #SH12G, but please let me know which other comparably priced and functional 2 bike, tilting, platform, tire secured racks you could suggest that would fit my vehicle and hitch.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since your hitch receiver pin hole is about 5" from the back of the bumper on your 2019 Hyundai Ioniq and the RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack # RKY10003 is about 5-3/4" from the hitch pin hole in the folded position, it will work but you won't have much clearance.
I recommend going with the other bike rack that you mentioned, the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2 Bike Platform Rack # SH12G. This rack measures 7-1/2" from the hitch pin hole and will provide extra clearance so that you will not have to worry. The Kuat has a few upgrades when comparing it to the RockyMounts MonoRail. For example, the RockyMounts uses a threaded hitch pin which requires tools to install it into the receiver; the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 uses an integrated knob that can be twisted to lock the carrier into the receiver and requires no tools. Both bike racks come with locks for the bikes and carrier. I attached a demonstration video for you to check out.
