Question:
My trailer is capacity is rated at 2000#. I purchased it used and it came with 205/75/14 tires on a 5 lug pattern. The tire sidewalls are really close to the trailer frame, maybe 1/2 inch close. Not sure if the axle was replaced with a wrong width one or the original tires used to be smaller. I cant seem to find anything narrower than a 205 for that rim size. Any ideas? Thanks

The 205 in 205/75R14 refers to the section width of the tire in millimeters, which would be 8.1 inches. The 205 is the most narrow tire designed for a 14 inch wheel. You can, however, go a size smaller on the wheel to get more space. An ST185/80R13 would have a width of 185 millimeters, or 7.24 inches.
The Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" Aluminum Wheel # AM3S334 will be a good option to get the space you need. They are also rated to 1,710 pounds at 65 psi and have an M speed rating, or 81 mph. The galvanized wheels also offer very good corrosion resistance.
