Recommended Trailer Hubs To Replace Older Hubs With Uncommon 4 on 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern

Question:

Hello, Im trying to find replacement rims for a very old utility trailer. I replaced the tires last year but found the rims still leak. The rims are 14" 4 x 4.5 bolt pattern. I currently have ST175/80 R13 tires on them. Wondering if you have something that will fit. thanks

I may have a solution for you, but we do not offer any 14" wheels with a 4 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.

My recommendation is to replace the hub on your trailer with one that uses the much more common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.

To determine the correct replacement hub you will need to find which inner and outer bearings your current hubs use. The easiest way to do this is by removing one of your current hubs and looking for the bearing number stamped in the face of each bearing as shown in the included picture of the # L44649.

If your bearings are worn to the point that you cannot read the bearing number you will need to use digital calipers like # PTW80157 to precisely measure your spindle according to the included diagram.

For example the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K uses inner bearing # L68149 outer bearing # L44649, and has the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern which would pair up perfectly with the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel - 13" x 4-1/2" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - White Powder Coat # AM20232 that will fit your ST175/80R13 tires.

If you can tell me your bearing combination I would be happy to recommend replacement hubs for your trailer.

I included videos for the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
