Question:

I have GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5 inch lift. Will the Replacement Shank for Gen Y adjustable ball mount 2” hitch 5” /rise 10K allow me to tow my 28ft, 6000lb travel trailer 700lb tongue level, not compromising towing capacity?

The Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-303 is a great option for lowering the ball mount for your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. This shank is rated for 10,000lbs which is well below the 6,000lbs of your travel trailer. The one thing that I want you to consider is you said you have a 5" Lift. Does that include or exclude any larger tires that may have also been installed. If it doesn't include the tires you might want to consider the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-304 as it will give you a 7" drop to account for the 5" lift with larger tires. If unsure on which will work best I suggest measuring the hitch height of your Sierra and subtracting the hitch height of your Travel Trailer and going with whichever is closest to the difference.
