Question:

Are the PR4B and PR4 interchangeable? Trailer axle is #3500 but it has a 3 axle. Both leaf spring have broken, would like to upgrade. Eye to Eye is 25 1/8 Thanks

The PR4 leaf spring which we sell as # e28SR is not interchangeable with the PR4B which we sell as part # e54SR. The springs are different lengths and capacities, with the # e54SR being 25-1/8 of an inch long for a 3500 lb axle and the # e28SR being 25-1/4 inches long for a 5000 lb axle.

The correct way to measure for length is to jack the trailer up so the axle hangs free, then measure the eye to eye distance. This might be difficult because the springs are broken, but if they aren't broken into pieces you should still be able to get a fairly accurate measurement. If the 25-1/8 measurement was obtained that way, then the # e54SR would be the correct replacement.
