Can the 9v or 10v mighty mount work on a jet stream bar Thanks in advance

I called Yakima to check with them since the 9v and 10 v Mighty Mounts you're referring to have been discontinued. According to Yakima, the new JetStream bars are larger and more aerodynamically shaped compared to the older style of crossbars that the Mighty Mounts were created for, so they most likely will not fit.

The closest alternative are Yakima's Universal Mighty Mounts # Y03590. These can be secured with Lock Housing # Y07220 and SKS Lock Cores # Y07204.

Can Yakima Cross Bars attach to Yakima Universal Mounts? I want to add wider crossbars to my Nissan Xterra.

@Alan The Yakima Universal Mount goes between Yakim roof top accessory (like a cargo box or bike rack) and the cross rails. What you need is to swap out your cross rails. How are your cross rails attached now? What brand and style?

@LesD Thanks for reply. I have an OEM Xterra rack. I saw another Xterra with a wider crossbars attached to the 36 inch wide Xterra crossbars in order to gain a wider than stock platform. If I mount Yakima crossbars in the conventional way, the Yakima towers would raise my crossbars way too high. I just want to carry a 45 pound, 36 inch at the beam canoe. Do any of the Yakima crossbars attach to the universal mounts along the crossbar bottom sides? I know that the universal mounts will fit my OEM crossbars. Xterra are challenging to fit. Alan

@Alan We may have some miscommunication due to using certain terms differently. I misused them as well. Let me try this again. If I understand you correctly, you have a Nissan Xterra SUV vehicle. Your Xterra has the factory stock "roof rails" that run from back to back. You want to install "cross bars" that run from side to side. Cross bars are what roof top accessories attach to. NIssan makes stock cross bars but they only extend sideways to the roof rails - not beyond. What year is your Xterra? How wide do you want the crossbars? Take a look at the attached video and let me know if something like that would work.
