How To Attach Blue Ox Tow Bar To Aftermarket Jeep Bumper with D-Rings

I am currently towing a 2019 Rubicon with the factory bumper with the Blue Ox Alpha, and am now switching to a 2021 Gladiator with the Fab Fours Stubby bumper. Will the Blue Ox Adapter, # 88358 allow me to make the switch? I wasnt sure if it was this one or the BX 88357. Thank you

In order to choose the correct Blue Ox Aftermarket Off-Road Bumper Adapter for an aftermarket bumper you'll need to measure the d-ring shackle thickness and pin diameter. The max thickness is 1". There is then the part # BX88357 for 7/8" diameter pins or the part # BX88358 for 1" diameter pins.

I did some research on the Fab Fours Stubby Bumper and it uses a 7/8" diameter pin.

Thanks for that photo, and since you have a bumper with D-ring attachments, you would not need base plates; in fact, base plates wouldn't be able to be installed, so instead you would need a bumper adapter that attaches to the D-ring attachments.…
