Question:

I have a 2020 Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab short bed w/ Cummins diesel. Would like to install front hitch for winch. What size winch would my truck require and is there a front hitch and accessories that will work? How much line pull load would this require. Options please.

We have exactly the parts you are looking for.

For a front mount trailer hitch receiver I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH37FR since it has a 10000lb line pull rating, which is the highest rating out of all of the options confirmed to fit your 2020 Ram 2500 4x4 Crew Cab Short Bed Diesel. I included a picture of the # EH37FR installed for you to take a look at.

Moving on to a winch I recommend the Bulldog Winch Alpha Series Off-Road Winch # BDW10047 which has a 15000lb line pull rating, but since the hitch only has a 10000lb line pull rating you will need to be careful when using the winch to not exceed 10000lbs. This setup is ideal for winching a stuck vehicle out with your truck, but due to the limitations of the hitch I do not recommend using it for winching out your Ram 2500 as you will right at the 10000lb limit.

I also recommend adding the Bulldog Winch Front Wiring Kit # BDW20205 which will allow you to quickly install or remove the winch as needed.

To mount the Bulldog Alpha # BDW10047 to your front mount hitch I recommend the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate with Handles # BDW20011, and using the # e98881 will secure the mounting plate to the hitch.
