Question:
Id like to wire my cameras to a switch then direct to the trailer batteries. This would allow me to use the monitor as a security system when Im parked. I know I will have to be careful about turning it off so as not to drain the trailer batteries. My 2021 Dutchmen Astoria was pre-wired to run them from the running lights.

What you are wanting to do is possible but will require you to be somewhat creative with wiring. Basically you'd need to run the running light circuit of your trailer as well as power from your trailer battery to the in side of a diode like the part # RM-790.
Then run the output side to the camera installed at the rear of the RV.
Last you'd need install a switch on the wire between the trailer battery and the diode with part # D16740 and you'd be set.
